City of Heroes

The game generally cost about $50 to buy and has a monthly fee of about $15 a month for unlimited service.  If you buy for extended times like 3 months, 6 or 1 year there are reduced rates.

In City of Heroes you play…. You guessed it a Super Hero LOL

You have 2 things to choose when you're creating a character: an Archetype & Origin. Keep in mind Origin does not affect your character in any way except in what type of enhancements you will be able to use.

Archetype:

• Blaster – Ranged Powers
• Controller – Mob Control
• Defender – Healers, Buffers, Heroes Best friend :o)
• Scrapper - Martial Artist
• Tanker – Damage Takers

Origin

• Mutant – Powers are encoded into your genes
• Science – Exposure to something that gave you your powers
• Technology – Devices used to give you super powers
• Natural – High level training and conditioning
• Magic – Supernatural reasons which give you powers

The costume selection and character design is REALLY cool. You can have up to 3 different looks per character.
