Do people ask you to do Frank Spencer?
Yes. Not in America , though. They don't think I'm funny at all in America . They've never seen me be funny, so when I went over there with Phantom of the Opera, I became a romantic lead, I was this romantic Victorian figure.
You are a sex symbol there!
[Laughs] I was asked about being voted one of the sexiest men in America four years ago. And I said, "Well, it doesn't feel any different from being voted funniest man on TV. What's the link? I laugh a lot in bed and that makes for good sex.
People find masks sexy, too.
I never wore a mask in bed. But I suppose that is a sort of sexy thing.
